Heaton Moor restaurant Damson will re-open in the new year after a refit as ‘something very special’, say its owners.

The restaurant on Heaton Moor Road in Stockport has been open for almost eight years and has won a number of industry and customer awards.

But the owners, which include Steve Pilling who also owns the Moor Top pub over the road, feel it is time for a change.

An email sent to customers reads: “It is with excitement (albeit tinged with a touch of sadness) that we are announcing a big change at Damson Heaton Moor from January 2017.

“We will be opening a concept which is new, fresh and massively exciting for us all! We will be completely refurbing and designing something very special .. watch this space for more details.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your custom over the past 7 and a half years.

“We plan to go out in style! From October 18th we will be bringing back some of our most popular dishes from over the years to a great value fixed price menu offering 3 courses for £25.

“This will run for the rest of the year. If you would like to see any of our previous dishes on the menu – drop us an email and we will see what we can do!

“Once again a big thank you to one and all. We appreciate Damson has a wonderful and loyal customer base – we hope to see you all before the end of the year.

“What we can promise is that something really great will be coming to you early next year.”

Damson recently opened its tapas bar, La Cantina, next door in Heaton Moor but closed its MediaCity restaurant in September.
