Youngsters across Stockport are today being invited to take part in their very own Teddy Bears’ Picnic to help raise funds for Beechwood Cancer Care Centre.

Beechwood is calling on all primary schools, playgroups and nurseries in the borough to join in the fun with the Beechwood Bear by holding an event and/or taking part in a colouring competition between July 4 and July 10.

Angela Gray, fundraising manager at Beechwood, said: “We wanted to do something fun this summer with children in the area and schools and nurseries can get in touch to register to take part in a Teddy Bears’ Picnic and they will be sent their own Beechwood Bear.

“We hope by holding the picnic, we will raise awareness of the centre and the vital work we do with children and their families and also hope that funds will be raised by selling cakes, or dressing up and much more.

“Everyone is free to use their imagination as to what they want to do at their very own picnic.”
