Leading Manchester law firms Beyond Corporate Law and McAlister Family Law, part of the Beyond Professional Services Group,  are to be principal sponsors of the Seashell Trust charity sportive.

Taking place on Sunday, September 15, the Seashell Sportive will start and finish at the charity’s campus in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire.  The event is expected to attract around 500 riders.

Now firmly in the north west sportive cycling calendar the four routes on offer, from 50km up to a gruelling 170km route, take in some of the best countryside the region has to offer.

In 2018 some 300 cyclists entered and raised over £18,000 for Seashell Trust.

Seashell Trust charity provides education and residential care for some of the country’s most profoundly disabled children and young people who additionally have little or no ability to communicate verbally. Cycling is a key part the curriculum.

This is the fifth year of this fully-supported event, which has a choice of four routes, from 30 miles for families and beginners new to sportives, up to a 100 mile route taking in 10 of the region’s top hill climbs. The ride takes in the very best scenery Cheshire, the Peak District and Staffordshire have to offer.

Run entirely by volunteers, every penny raised from the event goes directly to supporting the work of Seashell Trust.

“We are delighted to support this local charity which helps to literally change the lives of some of society’s most vulnerable young people and their families,” said Jim Truscott,  frpm Beyond Corporate.

“We hope other companies will take up the baton and enter teams in this event, which has quickly become part of the North West cycling calendar.”

Fiona Wood, partner, McAlister Family Law, added: “We believe, very strongly, in supporting our local community, and our sponsorship of the Seashell Trust Sportive reflects our passionate commitment to helping the most vulnerable members of our society, particularly children.”

Dominic Tinner, Head of Fundraising at Seashell Trust, said: “Our sportive gives those who want to make a difference to the children here at Seashell a chance challenge themselves and discover some of the finest countryside in the North West.”
