Hazel Grove construction firm Lyme Design & Build teed off an amazing day of fundraising for Seashell Trust at Hazel Grove Golf Club.
The 76 golfers holed out having raised £8,000 for the disabled children’s education charity whose national centre of excellence is based in Cheadle Hulme.
The event was won by the team from Hazel Grove health and safety business HS Direct.
Golfers enjoyed a halfway house barbecue and golf buggy beer service out on the course followed by a dinner for 100 people at the club, where the bring-a-bottle barrow of booze auction raised over £800 alone.
Seashell Trust CEO and principal Mark Geraghty said: “I am delighted to receive such a generous donation, from the wonderful Lyme Design & Build.
“Seashell Trust rely on fundraising and donations from local people and organisations to provide important resources and services, for our young people.
“The incredible donation, raised at their impressive golf day, will make a real difference to children’s lives by helping us provide vital support and opportunities for their development.
“This is a local company whose community values and beliefs are part of their business DNA. An inspirational company committed to helping profoundly disabled families – well done Lyme Design & Build.”
Lyme Design owner Scott Wilson said: “This was another fantastic day that allows us to come together with our customers, suppliers, friends and family, have fun and more importantly raise money for our local chosen charity Seashell Trust.
“Having witnessed firsthand what this fantastic charity does for its children we wanted to do our bit to try and help, and this year we doubled what we raised last year.”
