One MAN and his bike go to France

Anthony Day

Anthony Day, a Field Service Engineer with MAN Diesel & Turbo in Stockport, has completed a four-day London-to-Paris cycle for charity.

One of more than 70 riders who took the challenge on behalf of several charities, Anthony wanted to to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation in memory of his late grandfather who passed away last year.

The route took Anthony from London to Calais (via a ferry from Dover) on day one, Calais to Abbeville on day two, Abbeville to Beauvais on day three and then Beauvais to Paris on the fourth and final day.

The challenge finished with a group photo underneath the Eifel Tower followed by a celebratory dinner before returning to London on the Eurostar.

In total the riders raised over £100,000 with Anthony’s personal contribution of £1,723 going directly to the British Lung Foundation.
