Robinsons Brewery has re-opened The Mulberry pub on Conwy Marina following an extensive refurbishment as part of the brewer’s ongoing commitment to invest profits back into their 300 strong pub estate.

Situated close to the A55 Express Way in Conwy, the Mulberry has been a stopping point for many en route or returning from Anglesey, Abersoch and beyond.

Closed for five months, Robinsons have transformed the pub into a family-friendly destination. The pub will employ 60 staff with the investment creating 36 new full and part time positions.

Simon Taylor, Retail Operations Manager for Robinsons Brewery, said: “The Mulberry has been one of our most ambitious projects to date.

“The pub is a prime destination – especially during summer months – so we wanted to create a relaxed venue that is perfect for the entire family whether dining or just popping in for a pint with friends.”

The pub’s new layout has not only increased dining and drinking areas but has opened up stunning views across the Conwy Marina basin towards the Great Orme.

The design has allowed The Mulberry to introduce a new first-floor meeting and function room with a private bar and galleried seating area.

Michelle Mellor-Edwards, General Manager of The Mulberry, said: “People will see a real difference.

“We hope our new meeting and function facilities will attract a broad range of new business; allowing us to host weddings, meetings and celebrations.”

Outside there is a new barbecue area and a great children’s play area featuring a pirate ship which will definitely be popular during summer.

The Mulberry’s new menu combines pub classics with colonial influences. Moroccan lamb cutlets, tapas and fresh mussels sit proudly alongside favourites such as freshly baked pies, burgers, pizza planks and a range of Welsh steaks – all presented with theatre and flair. The pub will also be serving a delicious breakfast menu each morning.

William Robinson, Managing Director for Robinsons Brewery (Pub Division), said: “The Mulberry, along with the recently refurbished Royal Ship Hotel in Dolgellau, are examples of our continued commitment to our pubs in Wales.

“We are extremely proud of what our team have accomplished in just five months and we are confident that the new Mulberry pub will continue to thrive for many years to come.”
