Robinsons reveals new Old Pack Horse

Robinsons Brewery has unveiled the new-look Old Pack Horse in Chapel-en-le-Frith after a five-week refit.

The pub is located within a conservation area so Robinsons’ award-winning Property Design Team were challenged to improve the space available for drinkers, deliver a fresh updated look, and create a more female friendly environment, while staying true to the pub’s character, heritage and location.

Licensee Sharon Ratcliffe said: “The Old Pack Horse was slightly run down, tired and a bit on the shabby side. It was a very male orientated boozer, desperately in need a touch of TLC.”

Husband Nicholas added: “Since the revamp, the pub is beyond recognition and beautifully furnished. Not only has the refurbishment attracted new customers, I am pleased to say our old regulars still feel equally at home.

“The Old Pack Horse still offers same charm and character that it’s known and loved for.”

Led by interior designer, Leah Bond, Robinsons worked with licensees Nicholas and Sharon Ratcliffe to create a scheme that was ‘just right’ for the pub.

Leah said: “Part of the brief was to retain a rustic country feel as well as making the pub more female friendly.

“The pub needed sensitive structural alterations; enabling the bar to become the new focal point and bringing the previously remote rooms, into the heart of the pub.

“To create that all-important relaxed and welcoming pub atmosphere, earthy tones were applied alongside the dispersion of heavily patterned wallpaper.

“To complement the new colour scheme, new lighting has been installed throughout to produce the perfect ‘mood lighting’.

“Two fireplaces have been restored back to their former glory; particularly welcoming at this time of year.

“We hope The ‘New’ Old Pack Horse offers the space, setting and extended drinks range that customers will want to enjoy again and again.”
