Cheadle-based financial mutual, Shepherds Friendly Society, has given Stockport charity Seashell Trust a festive boost by presenting them £1,200.

Fundraising efforts throughout the year have included weekly staff donations for a dress-down day in the office and a 25p-per-vote contribution for every vote received in our AGM.

Previous donations from Shepherds Friendly to Seashell Trust, based in Cheadle Hulme, include £1,000 contribution towards building a wildlife garden in 2014, and £1,100 for equipment in the new playground in 2015.

Wendy Bray, Fundraising Manager at Seashell Trust, said: “We are so grateful that Shepherds Friendly continues to support our children and young people. They have done so much for us over the last few years from volunteering to fundraising.

“This amazing donation of £1,200 will really help to ensure that our children and young people have the best opportunities in life”.

Regular volunteering efforts, combined with generous donations from staff and board members at Shepherds Friendly, mean that the total amount raised for the Seashell Trust since the partnership began is now well over £3,500.

Ann-Marie O’Dea, Chief Executive at Shepherds Friendly, said: “We are very proud of the money we have raised for Seashell Trust this year.

“It’s great to know that the money we have raised will go directly towards improving the lives of the children at the centre, and our charity work is something that everyone at Shepherds Friendly is proud of.”
