The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) were in charge of four-wheel racing at Oulton Park on Saturday.
Worsening weather during the day culminating with high winds and heavy rain made racing difficult.
On the programme were races for BSA F250 National/F450 National Superkarts, BSA F125 Open Superkarts, CNC Heads Sports Saloons and Dunlop Britcar.
For the first of two 20-minute races for the CNC Sports/Saloons Paul Rose put his Saker on pole with Steve Harris in a similar car alongside.
Luke Armiger in his Vauxhall Tigra 2000 and Danny Bird in his Spire GTR 1000 took up row two.
Rose led into the first corner from Armiger and Joe Spencer in his Locosaki 1400.
A poor start relegated Harris to fourth. By the end of lap one Harris had climbed to second behind a charging Rose, Armiger and Spencer in third and fourth.
A safety car period on lap two closed the field but when the race resumed two laps later the order remained the same as it would do to the flag.
It was a close race for fifth place, David Harvey in his Locosaki chasing Bird all the way and finally taking the place on the penultimate lap.
Race two saw what should have been pole position Rose start from the pit lane. Spencer took the lead at the start from Armiger, Harris and Bird. Harris again made up places on the first lap and was leading by the start of lap two, by which time Rose had made his way through the field to twelfth place.
Rose climbed to seventh by the end of lap two, fourth by the end of lap three and second by the end of lap four by which time Harris was nearly eighteen seconds up the road from him. Harris continued to pull away from Rose and took the win with Spencer and Armiger third and fourth.
Stockport driver Danny Bird finished the day with a sixth and fifth place overall, 3rd and 2nd in class, in his Spire GTR, while Garry Wardle, from Macclesfield claimed 2nd and 3rd placed in class.
Matt Spark from Sale was also in action at the wheel of his Caterham C400, grabbing 4th and 2nd place class finishes.
In other events there were wins for Liam Morley and Lee Harpham in the F125 Karts. Gavin Bennet took two wins in the F250/F450 Karts and the Bonamy Grimes/Johnny Mowlem Ferrari took two wins in the Britcar races.
