Merseyway will become 'Merseybay'

Whatever the weather, Stockport families are guaranteed seaside fun this summer as Merseyway Shopping Centre launches ‘Merseybay’.

This August, Merseyway in the centre of Stockport is inviting families to come and play at Merseybay – a free 6mx4m indoor beach filled with golden sand, deckchairs to sit back and relax in, a beach hut and buckets and spades to build sandcastles.

Located outside Thorntons, the beach will be open to children aged 10 and under from 11am-4pm every day from Saturday,  August 6, to Saturday, September 3.

Families can attend the grand pirates and mermaids opening party on August 6 where children will enjoy fun makeovers, activities and games with Merseybay’s very own pirate and mermaid from 11am-4pm.

Pparents can sit back and enjoy summer food samples courtesy of Marks and Spencer or treat themselves to a refreshment from Thorntons ice-cream cart.

Parents can also be in with a chance of winning a £1000 voucher towards their next dream holiday by simply filling out a Merseybay postcard.

Merseyway will also be hosting a best sandcastle competition where children can win a bucket load of this summer’s most popular toys by uploading a photo of their sandcastle to the Merseyway Facebook page.
