A team from the Vernon Building Society in Stockport will tackle the Cheshire Three Peaks to raise funds following the fire at The Christie.
The blaze at the Withington cancer hospital in April saw research and life-saving equipment destroyed.
Caroline Shard, Senior Customer Service Manager at the Vernon, is taking a team of 15 around the 22km route that takes in Tegg’s Nose (370m), Shining Tor (559m) and Shutlingsloe (506m) near Macclesfield Forest.
Caroline said: “Several members of staff at the Vernon have benefited from The Christie and the good work they do – it is an amazing place and helps so many people in our area.
“As soon as we heard about the fire, we wanted to help – 22km is going to be a challenge, but together I know we can do it.”
Jen Bailey, Corporate Fundraising Coordinator at The Christie charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have the support of Vernon Building Society.
“It is brilliant to see so many members of their team taking on the Cheshire Three Peaks in support of The Christie.
“We are extremely grateful to all of our supporters for their offers of fundraising support, practical assistance and messages of encouragement following the fire in April earlier this year.
“Everyone at The Christie charity is wishing the Vernon team all the best with their upcoming challenge.”
The walk is due to take place on July 23, 2017, and Team Vernon can be sponsored at Just Giving.
