Reddish Vale golfer Andy Hart has won the club’s first board competition of the year – at the age 87.

Andy, who joined the club in 1969, won the Founders Trophy off a handicap of 12.6 – he was 3-up in the bogey format.

Club manager Dave Sanders said: “Andy is fitter than many golfers half his age and is a living testimony that walking up the 18th hill at RVGC is good for your health.

“He has won a couple of competitions at Reddish Vale in his time and has beaten his age a number of times over the last few years.”

Andy, who married in 2016, received the trophy from new Reddish Vale captain Michael Canning.
