A football tournament organised by Stockport accounting and business advisory firm HURST raised £1,800 for charity.
Sixteen teams took part in the eighth annual five-a-side contest at the Powerleague Trafford Sportsdome with Equilibrium Asset Management, based in Wilmslow, beating Maven Capital Partners in the final.
Among those taking part in the tournament were teams of solicitors, bankers, financial services and insurance professionals, recruiters and software testing specialists.
The proceeds will go to MedEquip4Kids, which is HURST’s charity of the year.
MedEquip4Kids raises money to provide paediatric medical equipment and facilities for hospitals and community health teams that are not funded by the NHS.
HURST’s marketing executive Lucy McCormick said: “Our charity five-a-side tournament is always a fun afternoon and a great way to raise money for our chosen charity of the year.”
HURST has raised £12,000 for MedEquip4Kids this year through various events.
A team completed the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in under 24 hours, and more than 40 staff took part in a charity challenge which involved raising as much money as possible in a day.
Activities undertaken on the day included a car washing and valeting service, organising a raffle, face painting, a cake and tombola stall, and dressing as superheroes for selfies with members of the public in Stockport town centre.
