St Ann’s Hospice is appealing to businesses to ‘putt’ a team forward for their latest fundraising event.

The south Manchester charity has opened registration for its popular annual golf day, which sees business people from across Greater Manchester gather together to raise money for local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

The event will be held at Dunham Forest Golf Course on Thursday, May 16, starting at 12.30pm.

The teams of four will enjoy a light lunch on arrival, followed by a shotgun start at 2pm. Complimentary refreshments will be available at the halfway house, and following play participants can enjoy a relaxed two course meal, followed by competition winner presentations, raffle and auction. Non players are also welcome to join teams at the meal and presentations.

Eamonn O’Neal, Chief Executive of St Ann’s, said: “The support we receive from local businesses is incredibly important to our sustainability and to help us ensure we can continue providing care to patients and their loved ones.

“We’re incredibly lucky to have such a wide range of dedicated, supportive businesses that help the hospice in so many ways, and our annual Golf Day is always a popular way of doing so.

“Some people come along as a team building day out, whilst others bring clients with them, but however they get involved, we’re hugely grateful.”

For those local businesses who would like to be involved in other ways, sponsorship options are also available. The fundraising team at the hospice is also keen to hear from local businesses who might be able to donate prizes for the special event.

Sunil Ruia, Trustee for the Bhim Ruia Foundation, who took part in last year’s event said: “Bhim Ruia Foundation is proud to sponsor part of this event at our home course.

“We thoroughly enjoyed last year’s golf day and are really looking forward to joining the team from St Ann’s again this time around. With home advantage one would think we should be favourites!”
