Visiontrack Ducati rider Christian Iddon claimed his place in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship’s ‘Showdown’ section.
Iddon, from Stockport, was left with a mountain to climb when he took a tumble on the opening lap of race one at Snetterton in Norfolk at the weekend.
Iddon, left back in 17th place on the grid in race two having not set a lap time in race one, claimed 11th place.
Race three saw Iddon climb six places to finish fifth despite a red-flag stoppage as several rider fell as a result of Danny Buchan’s [BMW] bike went down on it’s own fluid.
The resulting points left Iddon fourth in the championship standings and with enough points to claim a Showdown spot with a round to spare.
Iddon is back in action this weekend as the BSB Series visits Silverstone from the September 10-12.
He said: “It’s fantastic to be confirmed in the Showdown, we still have Silverstone to go until the Showdown starts for real, typically not an easy track for the Ducati but I’m really looking forward to trying to turning that around.”
