Christian Iddon is out to spoil the party as the British Superbike Championship heads for its solitary overseas round at Assen in the Netherlands this weekend.
Iddon has shown his and the team’s potential over the last two meetings, particularly in poorer conditions.
The Stockport rider ran more than a second a lap faster than every other rider in the final race of the weekend at Silverstone and set the fastest lap in free practice one at Oulton Park by a margin of almost three seconds.
Iddon looks forward to the BSB Championships visit to the ‘cathedral of motorcycling’ aiming for the, so far, illusive top step of the podium.
The TYCO BMW racer has visited the podium on four occasions this season with a second and three thirds to his credit.
“I’m really looking forward to Assen,” he said. “I think everyone does, I think it’s one of everyone’s favourite circuits on the calendar – it’s fast and flowing, really enjoyable.
“I’m not sure how the weather’s going to be, but I’m not too worried about that, we’ve been fast and consistent in all weather recently.”
The BSB returns to the UK a few weeks later from October 13-15 as the championship brings down the curtain on 2017 at Brands Hatch in Kent.
