Ons Jabeur dropped just three games to beat Sara Sorribes Tormo in the final at the Fuzion 100 Manchester Trophy at the Northern Lawn Tennis Club.
The Tunisian did not drop a set on her way to the title and was too powerful for her Spanish opponent in the final, triumphing 6-2 6-1 in 62 minutes.
“I’m really happy,” said the world number 180. “This is my first title in around two years. I played really good tennis and didn’t lose a set this week, so hopefully I will continue playing this way.
“I played aggressive and I didn’t give her the chance to take over. I held my serve very good, which helped me a lot and I was focused the whole match.”
Thailand’s Luksika Kumkhum and India’s Prarthana Thombare won the doubles final, defeating Stockport’s Naomi Broady and her partner Asia Muhammad (USA), the top seeds, 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 to lift the trophy.
The number four seeds had needed a tie-break to prevail in their three previous matches but recorded a more straightforward victory in Sunday’s first match on centre court.
The Fuzion 100 Trophy Series action now moves to Ilkley this week.
