Staff at Beechwood Cancer Care Centre in Stockport are encouraging people to get into the Christmas spirit by adopting a Christmas jumper day at work.
The aim of the day is for businesses, school children, community groups and many more to nominate a day to wear a Christmas jumper in December and make a £1 donation to Beechwood.
Fundraising manager Angela Gray said: “Christmas is the season to be jolly so we want to help people have a bit of fun at work, in school or even at a dinner party by wearing a colourful Christmas jumper and then making a donation to Beechwood.
“There is no set day to do it, people can choose their own, and for those organisations that will not be able to wear a jumper or have an office grump, we also have badges for sale that they can wear instead in support of Christmas jumper day. I really hope everyone gets into the spirit.”
Beechwood is also encouraging people to add an extra gift to their shopping basket, which can be donated to raffle or sell at the Christmas fair.
Gifts can be dropped off at the centre or in any of the Beechwood charity shops.
The Christmas fair will be held on Saturday, November 26, between 10.30am and 12.30pm at Beechwood headquarters on Chelford Grove, Bridgehall, including gifts, plants, toys, cards, a tombola, café and much more. If you are able to bake cakes for the fair, Beechwood would love to hear from you.
