Stockport residents who fancy their chances of beating an Olympian will have the opportunity as part of a new weekly fitness challenge set by H1VE.
The boutique-style studio, based at Stockport Sports Village, is inviting residents looking to stay active during lockdown the chance to put the results of their home workouts to the test by taking on head coach Andy Turner at a series of mini fitness challenges.
Each week, Andy – who’s represented Great Britain at two Olympic Games and won gold in the 110m hurdles at the 2010 European Championships – will post a video of himself attempting a different exercise in less than a minute.
The first video is on H1VE’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/H1VEF1T – and sees Andy lay down the gauntlet for the most sit-ups in 45 seconds.
People will be then be invited to post their attempts and results using the hashtag #H1VEChallenge.
The challenge is part of an ongoing schedule of activity from the fitness studio, including a wide variety of pre-recorded classes, hints and tips via H1VE’s social channels, and live streamed classes which take place Monday to Saturday at 9.30am at www.facebook.com/andyturnerfitness.
“It’s all a bit of fun to hopefully help encourage people to stay safe, stay home and stay active,” said Andy.
“Our whole ethos at H1VE is about taking on challenges together as a community, so with activities like this we’re doing what we can to keep that spirit going”.
New challenges will be added each week.
