Mellor and Townscliffe’s scratch golfer Chris Unsworth has got his season off to a flying start with three successive victories.

His latest came in a singles Stableford where he posted an excellent 40 points to finish two clear of the field.

Chris, who now plays off 0.1, has been a loyal member of the club for many years and he is a frequent winner of club majors.

Chris said: “I love playing at Mellor – the course, the members and staff and the views are second-to-none.”

A monthly medal at Mellor and Townscliffe saw their new captain Paul Butler reveal his true colours at the prize presentation.

Many members had wear their sunglasses to avoid being dazzled by Paul’s trousers as he presented the prizes to divisional winners Paul Hanson 66, in-form John Collinson (68) and past captain Ian Appleton (69).
