Stockport Full office technology provider Midshire has been named as a contender in two categories at this year’s North West Business Masters.

Now in its fifth year, the North West Business Masters celebrates excellence in enterprise and entrepreneurship in the region.

Midshire Managing Director, Julian Stafford, has been shortlisted as one of only three candidates for the accolade of North West Ambassador.

This is a special award created by the judges to recognise outstanding leadership, vision and commitment to business over a sustained period. Judges are looking for someone who has gone ‘beyond the call of duty’ to support the region.

Previous winners include Lord Haskins, former chairman of Northern Foods, Fred Done, billionaire businessman and co-owner of bookmaking chain BetFred, and chief executive of The Co-Operative Group, Peter Marks.

Julian was crowned Stockport Business Person of the Year and Technology Entrepreneur of the Year last year, following unprecedented growth and success for the Stockport based company.

He said: “In December, I reflected on the previous twelve months and I couldn’t believe how much we had achieved and grown as a company, receiving the two awards was just the icing on the cake.

“To start the New Year being nominated as North West Ambassador is unbelievable. I’m incredibly flattered to be mentioned in the same breath as the previous winners of this prestigious accolade.

“We are really looking forward to attending the ceremony in March.”

Midshire has also been shortlisted in the Pride/CSR category for its work in the community and charitable fundraising.

Winners will be announced in front of over 500 people at a glittering awards ceremony on Thursday 10th of March at the Midland Hotel Manchester.
