Musician hits right notes for St Ann’s Hospice patients

Jeanette Caddick has hit the right notes for St Ann’s Hospice through her love of the saxophone.

Little did she know when she started playing the instrument seven years ago it would lead to a £1,000 donation to the charity where she is head of finance.

Jeanette, from Bramhall, is a moderator of an online forum for saxophonists and the donation came from the website’s owner, Pete Thomas.

Pete’s company has donated £77,000 in total with Heaton School in Stockport also benefiting from his generosity.

Jeanette said: “I decided I needed a hobby and wanted to learn to play an instrument. I’m still rubbish but have had so much fun playing the saxophone and would recommend it to anyone.

“Joining the forum cafesaxophone.com has allowed me to meet other musicians and we get together regularly. The donation from Pete is very generous as we rely heavily on fundraising to care for our patients.”

Pete said: “We have around 5,000 members of our forum and it’s nice to be able to help charities such as St Ann’s Hospice.

“All profits from our two websites go to good causes and I’d like to thank everyone who has donated, or bought something from our store.”
