Christian Iddon is looking forward to getting back on track this weekend following his accident at Oulton Park last time out as the British Superbike Championship heads to Snetterton in Norfolk.
Iddon, from Stockport, came off his TYCO BMW during free practice for the Cheshire round of the series, leaving him side-lined in front of his ‘home’ fans when he broke several bones in his hand.
“It’s felt like a long break since Oulton Park,” said Iddon.
“But the six-week gap has been a bit of a blessing as it’s given me time to get fixed up.
“Rehab has gone well. I’ve spent time away in the Isle of Man supporting the team and in the hyperbaric chamber before returning back to my normal training schedule.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back on the bike and hoping to really get my season started.
“I think I’m the only rider not to have tested or raced during the summer break so that’s less than ideal but I’m confident we can be strong from the outset.
“I need to focus on getting back in the showdown. I’m 22 points outside right now, but with 25 on offer for a win, it’s more than doable to get back up there and push on.”
Snetterton will host two 16-lap races for the BSB, with free practice starting on Friday, June, 15 qualifying on June 16 and race day on the 17th.
