St Ann’s Hospice is preparing to bring a kaleidoscope of colour to Stockport this summer with its latest fundraising event.
Organisers of the ObstaColour Run are hoping hundreds of people will join them for the special fun run with a difference in Woodbank Park on Sunday, July 15, to help to raise essential funds for local patients.
Participants in the 5km sponsored event will be showered with multi-coloured powder – a safe, environmentally friendly corn starch – as they walk, run or jog the route through the park. They will also take on a series of inflatable obstacles throughout the untimed race.
Eamonn O’Neal, Chief Executive of St Ann’s Hospice, said: “We ran an ObstaColour Run last year and it was incredibly popular, selling out in just a matter of weeks.
“We’re really excited to be holding another ObstaColour Run this year, and we’re hoping that as many people as possible sign up to take part.
“It’s a really fun day out for all the family, and last year we had teams of friends and colleagues taking part together too.
Last year’s ObstaColour Run attracted around 2,000 people from across the city, raising £92,197.69 for the local charity.
St Ann’s Hospice, which operates from three sites in Little Hulton, Heald Green and the Neil Cliffe Centre in Wythenshawe Hospital cares for thousands of patients every year with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
It also runs a range of community and outreach services and helps people right from the point of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
To sign up to the ObstaColour Run, please visit the hospice website or contact the team by emailing events@sah.org.uk or calling 0161 498 3631.
